Chief Investment Officer and founding partner Paul Wood
With over 24 years of research and portfolio management experience, Paul most recently worked at Sloane Robinson from 2004 to 2012 (becoming a partner in 2006) managing several hedge funds covering equities, derivatives and bonds.
Prior experience includes working for Everest Capital, Morgan Grenfell and GT Management, in the UK and US, covering developed and emerging market equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities. Paul invented and patented Fundamental Indexation, an equity index concept based on fundamental indicators rather than market capitalization, and has sold rights to an international money manager now investing over $70bn using the concept. Paul is a Cambridge and LSE (1st Class Honors) graduate.
Chief Executive and founding partner Michael Bedford CFA
With 21 years stockbroking analysis and 5 years experience in strategy, planning and investor relations , Mike’s background has predominantly been in Mining and Financial Services in the UK and South Africa. Mike worked at AngloGold Ashanti for 5 years, managing group planning processes and providing strategic support to the CEO and main board directors. He was involved in corporate strategic development, including new bond and equity issuance and investor relations.
Prior experience saw Mike work for 21 years at Barnard Jacobs Mellet, reaching Director level, working as analyst and in sales. Here he helped build an international client base to over 100 institutional clients and became head of international sales. Mike was part of the executive management team that successfully listed the company and managed several international equity issues for South African clients, eventually becoming Head of Mining Research.
