Woodhill have created a fund that simplifies investment. We invest when the risks are perceived to be low, and defend your capital when the risk is high. At its core, this challenges the notion that increasing risk improves returns.

We’re an absolute return fund and we recognise time as the ultimate asset. Not everyone has the benefit of investing for the long term, allowing you to ride out short term losses. At Woodhill we aim to make money whatever the stock markets are doing. We charge very low fees for an actively managed fund and there are no hidden fees.

We’re highly experienced and we know the financial landscape very well, visible in our recent returns. We’ve refined our methodology and and found even better ways of reducing risk in late 2016. Since then our results have been sector leading. We are confident that we can manage money successfully irrespective of market conditions.

We’re based in Bath, England, and are approved by the Financial Conduct Authority.

The VT Woodhill UK Equity Strategic Fund was launched on 2nd June 2014. The fund is a UK large-cap equity OEIC and is authorised by the FCA in accordance with the UCITS Directive.

The fund’s objective is to generate a positive capital return over a 12-month period irrespective of market conditions.

The fund comprises of an equity portfolio made up of between 50 and 60 large capitalisation and liquid UK equities which mirrors the UK-market index. Where we can, we choose companies with strong fundamental characteristics such as low gearing and earnings growth.

The full value of the equity portfolio is hedged with UK-market index futures. From time to time, using a variety of data sources to gauge market risk, the hedge is removed, and then replaced. We will only consider its removal when our analysis shows the market’s risk-reward balance to be clearly favourable. Analysis is based primarily on quantitative data, such as economic indexes and investor sentiment (amongst others), with a qualitative overlay provided by the CIO and CEO who, between them, have over 50 years of financial experience.
